Volunteer

The School of Environmental and Biological Sciences, along with the New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station and Rutgers Cooperative Extension, provide numerous opportunities for our alumni to volunteer in service to either Rutgers and/or your local New Jersey community. Please review the following organizations below and consider playing an active part in the care and development of our great state.

1. Rutgers Gardens - help maintain the grounds, grow plants for sale, be a tour guide, and much more.
2. Environmental Stewards - help solve environmental issues in your local community concerning soil health, water resource protection, habitat conservation, and much more.
3. 4-H Youth Development Program - help children to become competent, caring, and contributing citizens.
4. Rutgers Master Gardeners (separate from Rutgers Gardens) - provide gardening demonstrations, horticulture therapy, research assistance at Rutgers, and much more for your county.
5. Community Collaborative Rain, Hail, and Snow Network - join over 20,000 active observers in North America and the Caribbean to measure and map precipitation in your local community.
6. Chrysler Herbarium Army - the last existing internationally recognized herbarium in New Jersey containing specimens dating to the mid-1800s.
